Chapter Wars 2019

Taking a quick look at the standings we can already see some unexpected results.

Last season’s Champions, The Nashua Knightmares, are coming in hot, kicking ass and showing why they deserve the gold! With a new Captain at the helm, Greg Fisher, the Knightmares are holding tight to first place with 10 points / 2 wins – 0 loss so far this season. But hold on, because Chapter Wars has a new contender for the throne! The Montreal Mastiffs, known in Canada as the “Dogues” are barking up the same tree of gold with a tie score for first place! Could this be the season that sees an international team take the gold?

Running a sharp second behind the Knightmares and the Mastiffs are the Boston Dark Knights, managed by new Captain, Mike Luich and The Dallas Warlords, (formerly known as “The Dallas Marshalls”) . While these two teams are geographically distant they will still be battling it out in the standings with each other via local matches. Both teams have been” Chapter War” Champions in the past. (The Boston Dark Knights are the victors of season #1 and The Warlords surprised everyone with their gritty win during season #6. Both of these teams have an impressive roster and have a great chance of pushing their way to first place.

Struggling to hold on to third place is 4th, 5th and 7th season Champions, The Manchester Monarchs. The Monarchs swing into the season with a new team and new Capt, Brian Juranty. Working through their new roster’s adjustment period, the three time Champions have lost their first two fights of the season. But The Monarchs are far from being the underdogs. They could easily bump up to second or even first place in their next two matches. They just have to decide that the adjustment period is over!

We can’t count-out our forth place teams either – The NY Sentinels, The CT Highlanders, The San Jacinto Knights – (formerly known as The Outlaws), or The Thunderbirds – (known in Canada as the Wakinyan). These teams or even the possibility of a new team that has yet to join the fray will have time to move their Chapter or Club up the charts.

“Strategy” will be the working buzz word as all the teams negotiate the new “duels rules” implemented to the matches. There is still plenty of time for a surprise or two this season of Chapter Wars. Stay tuned for more details.
